NOTES FROM THE JULY 6, 2009 TOWN HALL MEETING

Standing-room only as Citizens and Council discuss proposed cell tower, bridge construction, sewers, water...

FRELIGHSBURG, 2009/07/06. There was a large turnout and lively discussion at the July 6 meeting at the town hall. The main points:

Several Citizens expressed objections to the 100m-tall Videotron tower planned for chemin Verger Modèle, due to concerns over health, setback distances, aesthetics, property values, etc. It was announced that zoning restrictions would prevent any further tower projects, as suggested in a Forum Frelighsburg letter of June 15, 2009.

Concerns were voiced about the bridge reconstruction project, as well as its scheduling for the height of the tourist and apple season.

There was discussion of the large infrastructure projects (sewers, drinking water), and it was announced that the signing of the register concerning the municipal borrowing would occur in the third week of August. Details will be posted here at Forum Frelighsburg when they become available.
