Un endroit spécial existe à Frelighsburg: la
patinoire du village. Récemment, j'étais à la patinoire
où mes enfants patinaient avec leurs camarades de classe de
l’École St- Francois-d’Assise.
Quelle occasion
rêvée de tenir une classe à l’extérieur au
grand air! Entretenue par Steven "Peaches"
Picher, la patinoire de Frelighsburg continue
d’être un endroit très populaire auprès des enfants
et des adultes de notre région depuis plusieurs années.
Ouverte
du dimanche au jeudi de 9:00 à 22:00 et le vendredi et le samedi de 9:00
à 23:00, la patinoire offre une variété
d’activités telles que le patinage libre, le hockey en
soirée, des jeux d’animation et beaucoup plus. M. Picher
entretient méticuleusement la patinoire. Plusieurs fois par jour, en
collaboration avec Dame Nature, il l’arrose et veille également
au bon fonctionnement du site incluant l’abri qui sert à
réchauffer les plus frileux ! Peaches mérite la
collaboration de tous afin de maintenir ce centre récréatif
profitable pour tous.

A hidden gem lies in Frelighsburg. The community ice rink. Recently I was at the rink where
my children were skating along with their classmates from Saint-Francois- d'Assise. What an
opportunity these children have to attend a classroom outdoors in the fresh air. Cared for
and operated by Steven "Peaches" Picher, the ice rink in Frelighsburg has been a continuous
delight for both the children and the adults in our region for many years.
Open Sunday through
Thursday from 9:00 to 22:00 and Fridays and Saturdays from 9:00 to 23:00, the rink offers skating,
games, hockey nights and much more. Picher meticulously maintains the rink, single handedly.
He floods it, he waits, then floods it again and waits, everyday, all hours of the day.
Steven is responsible for the benefits the rink brings to the area and he should receive all
the support he needs to continue to keep the rink and the center open and running for the delight of all.
